ePDFNotes Privacy Policy

Overview

ePDFNotes is a PDF annotation app for iOS and macOS. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data Collection

ePDFNotes does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.

The app does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or any third-party services that collect user information. There are no user accounts and no sign-up or login required.

Data Stored on Your Device

All data created within ePDFNotes is stored locally on your device:

• PDF documents — files you import into the app.
• Annotations — text notes, highlights, and drawings you create on your PDFs.
• Media attachments — voice recordings, photos, videos, and files you attach to PDF pages.
• App settings — your preferences such as theme, speech speed, and sync settings.

This data remains entirely under your control and is never sent to us or any third party.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, ePDFNotes uses Apple's iCloud service to synchronise your PDFs, annotations, and media attachments across your devices signed into the same Apple ID. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

iCloud sync is optional and disabled by default. You can enable or disable it at any time in the app's Settings.

Camera and Microphone

ePDFNotes may request access to:

• Camera — to capture photos or record video notes attached to PDF pages.
• Microphone — to record voice notes attached to PDF pages.

These permissions are requested only when you use the corresponding feature. Photos, videos, and voice recordings are stored locally on your device (and in your iCloud account if sync is enabled). They are never transmitted to us or any third party.

YouTube Content

ePDFNotes allows you to embed YouTube video links on PDF pages. When you play a YouTube video, the content is loaded directly from YouTube's servers within the app. This interaction is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. ePDFNotes does not collect or store any data from your YouTube viewing activity.

Third-Party Services

ePDFNotes does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only external services used are:

• Apple iCloud — for optional cross-device sync (user-initiated).
• YouTube (Google) — for playback of user-embedded video links.
